Jehovah, That Is My Name

Moses at the bush that wouldn't burn

Asking who shall I say has sent me to return

Tell them Jehovah, the God of your fathers

The God of Abraham, of Isaac, of Jacob

This is my name forever, He said

This is how I am to be remembered

Through the prophets, through the kings, through the silence of the years

Through the praise of the faithful, through the doubt and through the tears

Through the writings of Moses, through the songs of David's pen

Through the voice in the wilderness, through the stones the children name

Jehovah, the One who was, who is, who is to come

Jehovah, the One whose purpose will be done

He gives His glory to no other one

And His praise He will not give to graven things
