Hear His Voice Again

John 5:28
0:00/4:00
Scripture
“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”
— John 5:28Read on wol.jw.org

About this song

A gospel ballad of resurrection hope, written for anyone grieving a loved one. Verse 1 sets the promise of John 5:28-29 — every memorial tomb will hear his voice. Verse 2 walks through Acts 24:15 (the resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous) and Revelation 21:3-4 (no more death, mourning, pain). The bridge drops into a Nyabinghi feel and gets personal: "Your father's not forgotten, he's resting in His hand, safe in the memory of Jehovah's mighty plan." The final chorus lifts into a specific image of reunion — a father and son embracing under skies forever blue — the JW promise made tangible.

Lyrics

Verse 1

There's a promise carved in stone that death cannot erase

Every memorial tomb will open, every sleeping one will wake

Jehovah holds the key, He calls them by their name

And the ones we loved and lost, we'll hear their voice again

Pre-Chorus

So dry your tears, my brother, lift your eyes above

The God of all comfort has not forgotten his love

Chorus

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Coming up from the tombs to the warmth of the sun

Righteous and unrighteous, every daughter, every son

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Verse 2

Acts twenty-four fifteen, a hope for everyone

The just and the unjust rising when the work is done

Revelation tells us plain, He'll wipe away each tear

No more pain, no more mourning, no more crying, no more fear

Pre-Chorus

So hold on, faithful one, the promise is sure

What Jehovah has spoken forever will endure

Chorus

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Coming up from the tombs to the warmth of the sun

Righteous and unrighteous, every daughter, every son

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Bridge

Nyabinghi feel, ceremonial drums, intimate vocal

Your father's not forgotten, he's resting in His hand

Safe in the memory of Jehovah's mighty plan

The day is coming soon, the trumpets will sound

And the dust of the earth will give the sleeping ones back

Final Chorus

lifted, full harmonies

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Coming up from the tombs to the warmth of the sun

Father and son embracing under skies forever blue

Every promise of Jehovah coming wonderfully true

Hear His voice again, hear His voice again

Outro

We will hear His voice again...

We will hear His voice again...

Jehovah, faithful to the end
