John 14:28 — "The Father is greater than I am." How do Trinitarians explain this?
Jesus said plainly: "The Father is greater than I am." Also Mark 13:32: only the Father knows the day and hour — not the Son. If Jesus is co-equal with the Father, these statements are contradictions. If he is the Son — a distinct being — they are perfectly natural. The pattern in John: Jesus is consistently the one who is sent (John 3:16), exalted (Acts 5:31), and subjects himself (1 Cor 15:28).
